Highly polar solvents: solvents for acrylonitrile spinning and ion-exchange resins; solvents for dissolving inorganic salts and high-molecular-weight polymers; solvents for nucleic acid hybridization experiments.
Textile auxiliaries: fiber softeners, paper treatment agents, animal glue softeners.
